16 die of Covid-19 in Rangpur division

The average casualty rate currently stands at 2.08% in the division. Sixteen more patients died of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours till Saturday morning raising the total number of casualties to 918 in the division. The number of Covid-19 cases rose to 44,173 with a diagnosis of 233 positive cases afresh on Friday in all eight districts of the division, health officials said on Saturday. The government has decided to impose a “strict lockdown” across the country from Monday to curb the rising trend of novel coronavirus infection in Bangladesh, said a press note on Friday night.
